Red Earth Village

This tour will take you to a village built on deep red earth and introduce you to tradtions that very few foreigners have ever been lucky enough to see.

You will begin by  meeting a community group that use traditional methods and natural materials to build fish traps and other useful tools.

There is only one big well in the village, reported to be 58 metres deep, this well is the main water source for the village, why not try to pull up a bucket of water yourself?

As we enjoy cycling around the village, we will visit inside a local families home, a house that was built by using mud clay taken from the red earth, an indigenous method. A woman will show you how she makes colourful mats and baskets using 'ukili', a natural material.

We will then cycle to a huge baobab tree before going to a stunning view point overlooking the seas where we will rest for a little while and enjoy fresh fruits before cycling back.

This experience will leave you with a true taste of Zanzibars cultures and traditions.
